Chacheri Besha of Lord Jagannath is witnessed in the month of Phalguna and is the celebration of the festive tradition of Holi, during which people play with each other by throwing loose colored powder called Phagu. The tradition has been carried out for ages now as people celebrate the festival with their friends and loved ones. The adornment recreates the joy of the festival as the deities are seen decorated in red colored clothes along with red flowers. It is carried out from the tenth day of the bright fortnight in the month of Phalguna to the 14th day of the bright fortnight of the same, making it a period of five days.
